My happy self tells me there is something very right about this quote, my sad self tells me the exact opposite thing.
I am not a feminist like Gloria.I am humanist at the most.
So are we losing them or are we getting better, more complete, sufficient?
I don´t know and I don´t care right now.
Right now I believe in marrying myself before I marry outside of me . How about committing to me? Making plans with me? Loving me? Promising me? Avoiding things I do that bother me?
Wouldn´t this be the foundation to a better relationship with (not me)?

From My OldTo My New 3
Davos got me thinking.
In october 1945, the UN charter was ratified by the states who expected to free themselves from war and the threat of nationalist movements born between the 19th and early 20th century. It was the liberal idea to centralize all the efforts to solve the problems that challenge humanity.
The UN promotes human rights, enviromental issues, fights illnesses around the globe and attempts to reduce poverty. Any luck? Hardly.
Managing global affairs 60 years ago was one thing, today , global is a totally different word.
From Westphalia to the 1950´s , Europe was the whole world. Who would have thought of the Middle East?
The initial members of the UN were those who won a war ( in Europe by the way) and not much has changed since.
The list of members is long , but anyone who knows just a little bit about the UN, recognizes that the real vote belongs to the founders.(and very few others)
The scope of the word global has changed completely ,and the world order no longer lies beneath 2 powers. We have come a long way.
Facing this new era is humanity´s greatest challenge.
Financially broke, leaderless (1) (no JPII, no Thatcher,no Walesa,no Lenin, no Castro, no Gorvachev, no Churchill, no Ghandi) we need to take a raincheck and come back with a better idea of integration and cooperation among nations.
Every state should take part .Nationalists should set aside their fear of losing sovereignty , the world government is inminent, they either catch the wave or get drown in it.
The UN structure has been proved flawed and like the League of Nations , if it is not rebuit , it will dissappear.

How to turn a bad day into an OK day in just one day.
You have to be an alien if you have never had a bad day.Today was one of those days for me.
As soon as I opened my eyes, I knew it was going to hurt.
"Carpe Diem" I tried to cheer myself up. Then I cried.
It was a rough start.
Usually I would act on my blue mood by sitting down to identify my emotions, naming them and getting rid of them.
This time I felt like enjoying my sadness. I´d rather think this too shall pass than rushing it through or forcing it out.
I think it is normal when moving outside your comfort zone, or out of the range of your known abilities to self doubt repeatedly. However, it is a good idea not to linger too much in the delight of being miserable. After all , life is short and we could be missing out or just reading less.
Here are some pieces of advice I found very useful when transforming my bad day into an OK day. I hope you find them useful too.
1. Get yourself going. As soon as I set foot on the floor, I stopped crying, as if my body knew I had something else to do.(I really didn´t)
2.Engage in physical activity. It is my third day swimming, apparently chlorine deals with bad moods as well as with color in clothes.
3. Smile. Again tricking your body into thinking you are in a better mood.
4. Hug your dog (or cat). If you don´t have one, get one. No one should be without a pet.
5. Eat ice cream. Yeso it is self destructive but it got me through what threatened to be a terrible afternoon.
If all fails you can always go back to crying.

First time ever blogging:
I can say I write the way I talk and the reader could say then that my first sentence is essentially wrong since eloquence is not a quality in neither my writing nor my speaking.
I have been attempting to blog for around 10 days now ,yet the subject fails to wrap my thoughts and dissapoints me terribly, leaving me with nothing but a phone where silence is heard and is less judged.(ok, thats where I want to be and where I find my peace this days)
Out of practive and strongly influenced by the academic convention that it is wrong to write excesively in firts person and not quoting every word, I find myself trying to write on subjects that could be turned in on a due date to a teacher.
Yes, Omaba´s speech is worth research and writing on, where else will we find in another 50 years or so , something as valuable as a presidential speech that does not come out of JFK´s inagural,Lincoln´s second or FDRs´first. He was not subtle , nevertheless I do think there was a lot of poetry there. My favorite parts:"know that your people will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy. " " To those who cling to power through corruption and deceit and the silencing of dissent, know that you are on the wrong side of history, but that we will extend a hand if you are willing to unclench your fist"(1)
Fist. That leads me to another train of thought, but that is not what we are dealing with here.
Just like my very first love declaration this isn´t well thought trhough. Apparently I will never learn.
Gaza. What is that really about? Can they even find themselves in the map ? Palestinian land in hands of israelis. In 2007 they had this great civil war between Fatah and Hamas while Israel watched, and now its 1993 all over again. In my opinion , nothing will deepen rifts more between jews and muslims than what we are seeing and are still to witness.
The reader is the greatest teacher, the healthiest human relationship I will ever have, and whom I would hate to dissapoint , therefore, I will not continue writting.

From time to time there comes a person who will make me want to write again. Or a movie, or a song, I NEED TO WRITE!
I will bring my few witings from my old blog to my new blog and write on.
